He attended AUD Primary School1964-1969. AUD Modern School from 1971-1974; Awo Community Comprehensive High School from 1977-1982. Osogbo Grammar School for A/L GCE from 1983-1985.
Studied Banking and Finance at the University of Lagos between 1987 and 1989. Earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Lagos State University in 1999.

History of his illness

The problem started with just a pain at the knee-cap which made it difficult for him to walk properly. He visited the Gbagada General Hospital (GGH) for medical attention. His blood pressure reading was 190/148. Several drugs were administered to bring down the blood pressure and control the pain. After several weeks, the pain suddenly went away but the blood pressure remained high. He continued with his normal life until 1998 when the pain resumed at both kneecaps. He went back to GGH for diagnosis but after several tests, nothing abnormal was detected.

He has visited several hospitals since with similar symptoms until September 2003 when he was finally diagnosed with Kidney Failure by GGH. His urea level was 258, blood pressure was 185/140, PVC was 11%. He began dialysis every other day hoping the problem will be treated. It never was. It was determined that his kidney must have been damaged either by medications administered to him by doctors over the years or by the high blood pressure that was left uncontrolled for several years.

Bola has been undergoing dialysis twice a week since. He has been undergoing dialysis at GGH, Dialyzer Medical Center and at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital at Ife.

Dialysis costs about 30,000 Naira weekly. He spends another 25,000 Naira a week on medications. To date, about 2.5 million Naira has been spent on the treatment. His treatment continues to be financed through the generosity of friends and family.

The solution to his renal failure is a kidney transplant. Pre transplant, transplant operation and post transplant treatments and medication will cost about 8.5 million Naira. This is why even financially comfortable people like Steve Kadri could not finance a kidney transplant by himself. It is a very expensive illness. Bola needs your help to raise the fund needed.
